Eric grew up in a small town in South Carolina where there was no swing dancing. The Air Force sent him to Florida in 2004 for his first assignment. For over a year, one of his friends tried to convince him to go swing dancing, but Eric thought he was too cool to dance. It wasn’t until late 2005 that he finally went to Pensacola Swing and realized how much fun it was to dance. Eric first picked up Lindy Hop and then learned Charleston so he could dance to the faster music. From then on, Eric spent most Friday nights dancing, and eventually met his soon-to-be lifelong dance partner, Kim.

Eric and Kim got married in 2008 and the Air Force sent them to Colorado Springs for his next assignment. Before Eric started work in Colorado, he and Kim started dancing at altitude at Swing in the Springs. Over the years, Eric has attended exchanges, dances, and workshops in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Washington, D.C., South Carolina, Colorado, and California. When he’s not away with work or taking care of his daughter & second favorite follow, Emily, Eric enjoys dancing and teaching with Focus.
